ACTIVITIES FOR POROMOTION OF PHILATELY

PHILATELIC MATERIALS RELEASED AT DIFFERENT OCCASIONS

The Association involved in releasing special covers, picture post cards, carried covers, first flight cover and commercially used franking cover on various aspects and thematic areas. These philatelic materials were focused on regional importance, nature, and social cause etc with due permission and association with Department of Post, Odisha circle.

• 2008-Two thematic special Covers (“Apostle of Peace” & “Unity in diversity”)

• 2014- One Mangalajodi special cover (Save our Environment) & 10 picture post card depicting Migratory birds of Chilika

• 2016- Three special covers, one carried cover & 10 post cards on wild flora and fauna presenting Nature and Environment of Odisha

1. Chilika lakes with migratory birds, bird cancellation

2. Horse carried cover with Jeypore, Odisha RMS with horse cancellation

3. KISS and KIIT University, Butterfly cancellation

4. Gandhi cover with Gandhi and plantation cancellation

• 2017- First flight Cover

International inaugural first flight (26th April, 2017) at Bhubaneswar Airport. The Air Asia flight journey from Bhubaneswar to Kualampur and back with a brochure inside (300 Nos.)

• 2017- One Dak runner Carried Cover

The second visit of Gandhiji to Odisha after completion of 90 years on (19th August, 2017) was released by Association as proponent from Gandhi Bhawan Sub Post Office to Swaraj Ashram, Cuttack (Printing numbers-500 All are numbered)

• 2018- One Special Cover and One Carried Cover

1. Completion of 20 years celebration of EIPA, Bhubaneswar

2. Cycle mail carried cover released from Bapujee Nagar, Bhubaneswar depicting “ My life my message” slogan by Gandhiji (Printing nubers-500 All are numbered)

• 2020- Meter franking cover commercially used cover on Covid-19

The commercially used franking cover was issued from Secretary, Association to a COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar. There were two types of cover issued one is registered frank (600 Nos) and normal frank (800 Nos). The cover issued on 9th July, 2020.

• 2021- One Special Cover

1st death Anniversary of Late Bijoyshree Routray at Recreation club, CPMG building, DoP, Bhubaneswar

• 2022- One Special Cover

Sambar-the State Animal of Odisha, 2022 issued on 25th March, 2022 at Recreation club, CPMG office, Bhubaneswar

• 2022- One Special Cover

Indian roller- the State bird of Odisha, 2022 issued on 23rd September, 2022 at Convention Centre, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack

• 2023- 1 Picture postcard

On the occasion of World Post Day, 2023 on postcard of Serene Buddhist Monastery, Ratnagiri on 1st October, 2023 with Post Crossing Welfare Society of India, Bengaluru and 13 Philatelic association and clubs of India. Total 15 Postcards were released on the occasion.

• 2024-2 Commercially used registered Commemorative Covers

Ashoka flower, the State flower of Odisha and Pride of the Nation Gandhi was released on 16.2 and 17.2.2024 at Philatelic Bureau, Bhubaneswar (300 covers each) and set of 5 picture postcards “Pride of Odisha” (300 Nos.)
